Come For a Walk at Bridges
This is a perfect destination for an afternoon get together with a few friends. You must come see this amazing green space before it is closed to the public. Round out your visit with a tour of the two award winning show homes where the friendly staff at Bridges are happy to show you around and provide you with a cool, refreshing bottle of water.
Tucked in between the rows of new houses being built here you will find a two acre oasis that has taken over two years and over a million dollars to complete. Lush landscaping is everywhere and of course – there are lots of bridges! A stone walking path has been laid next to a meandering creek; many waterfalls have been created using natural native stone. All the stone comes from the Okanagan area; some of the larger stones and boulders were brought up from a site in Naramata. Pack a snack if you like, there is a wonderful area to stop and have a rest under a Gazebo on the island in the middle of upper pond. Knox Mountain is close by so if you prefer a tougher workout first you can start there and plan to have your cool down at Bridges.
The beauty of living at Bridges at Glenview Pond is that no matter how active you are there is an outdoor activity suitable to your abilities. “We don’t ride bikes anymore but we do love to walk and living here in “Old Glenmore” means we can walk every day. Some days we go down to the lake and back, and on Saturdays we often meet up with friends at a little tea shop in the Cultural District. There is such a beautiful park here that we often feel like we don’t have to go anywhere at all. We just enjoy sitting outside, listening to the sounds of the creek in our own backyard.”
Bridges at Glenview Pond is an unexpected surprise when you first come to see it. Nicely nestled into the existing neighborhood, Bridges is a welcome addition to the quiet and established area of old Glenmore. It is located below the popular Mount Royal and High Pointe subdivisions. This development features 34 heritage style homes each one with its’ own unique custom design. There are currently seven new homes under construction; there is even one that boasts a Victorian style turret.
Geo-Thermal heating and cooling is planned for every home. No more noisy air conditioners when you are trying to enjoy the outdoors, just quiet peaceful eco-friendly living. Each homes’ system is individually designed based on its’ own heating and cooling requirements. There are many other features here that encourage responsible choices for the environment: low water use landscaping, low flush toilets, Sun Tunnels and well planned windows to optimize the use of natural light. All these things and many others contribute making the homes environmentally friendly as well as reducing monthly costs.
The final phase of Bridges at Glenview Pond in now underway and the staff at Valux Homes would be happy to show you what all the buzz is about. “We are extremely excited to give tours through our 2 show homes and to invite the public to talk a walk here and experience the unique water features and landscaping.”
The show homes are located at 1358 Glenview Avenue, open daily from noon to 5 pm. Just take Gordon Drive or Spall Road to Clement Avenue and turn onto Cerise Drive.
